Default How is the game now adays?

Hi
I haven't played the game for couple of years, as the number of players dropped a lot. Especially when you wanted to PvP.

Has more people joined? Or are the servers almost dead?

Log in and find out?

There's considerably less people in the game compared to back in 2005/2006. Those who have stayed are either staying because they have titles to complete, pvp goals to reach or they like the social atmosphere of their guild.

PvE is pretty much only littered with SC and high-end PvE guilds that continue to farm.

The mAT is now a joke and apparently anyone can get a trim nowadays...

RA is still busy enough :3

No, the game is pretty empty now. Especially if you're interested in PvP.

HA is a joke now, and GvG is getting ridiculous. If you like low-end PvP (FA, AB, RA, stuff like that), then you'll be fine. Plenty of people still play those and they're about as competitive as they always were....

Game is dead. You could fill out HoM and be prepared for gw2 , if you want.

Euro PvP isn't as dead as people makeout. Sure not as active as the game has been but plenty playable.

dAT's C still have 15-20 nightly if you can find a guild, daily B usually has 5-10 too which is nice.

HA is the same as it's always been, so long as you can find some people to play with reguarly it'll be fun still.

In short, if you're euro and can find people to play with this game is still good fun.

High end PvP is more and more dead*
the rest of PvP is still overburdened, with 10 minute waiting times and all, enoguh people for fun, but TA and HB have been replaced by codex arena which is where the "LF rank 3+" players are.
PvE is quite active, you can find groups actually forming in some later game missions,
but not that many.

and euro districts were pretty dead last time i went on them seriousley (a year ago) so ou know the american districts will be good.

uuummm. The game isn't dead. Back in 2005/06 everyone spammed in Lion's arch. Now there are two whole other continents plus the Eye of the North expansion. There are plenty of people around and plenty of things going on, just spread over a larger area.

Euro dists are more active now then say a year ago, which i think is a good thing.

The one thing that pulled many people from euro dists were all the dungeon runners before the sf nerf, but since those are gone its started to come back a little in europe. The only reason to play in american dists is pugs for bounties or buying/selling items.

Dead.

Filling the HoM is pretty much the only reason half the people on are playing, including me.

GvG hasn't really gotten any less active in the past two years. HA is completely empty when Europe is asleep, though.

That's an unfair statement concidering all the bspammers left (4-5 guilds are now replaced by one terrible guild who uses syncs aswell).

On top of that, 2 years ago, you had daily GvG matches (non tournie), in recent weeks, seeing matches from over 4-5 days ago still on observe isn't all that rare anymore. It happens more than once that there is not a single top 100 match (ladder) for 24-48 hours.

Obviously, ladder is 'srs bsns', but I'm merely pointing out that GvG has become an even more closed off format with nearly no ways of entrance anymore. Whereas 2-3 years ago, you had atleast some people enter the format, if even through bspam guilds or hexway guilds.

Right now it's just friends farming friends or friends of friends.

b. GvG isn't closed off as long as you actually try to get in. Where do you think yawn came from?

The game's the most inactive it's ever been. Skills are over-nerfed in some areas, OPed and imbalanced in others. Team Arenas and Hero Battles have been deleted, and an even more horrid arena was introduced [see Codex Arenas]. People still require rank despite playing in a dead game. The majority give up and just quit the game, very few break down and actually allow non-ranked players to join [VERY FEW]. Anet's focused on their next big money maker GW2, so GW1 has been left to rot as a result. That's about all I can recall off the top of the dome atm, but I'm pretty sure there's alot more.

In summary, the games in very bad shape.
